I'm out of practice, have I just been asked out on a date?

A new neighbour has moved into our block of flats, and we have spoken a few times, helped with a few things etc

he is old enough to be my Dad though, and he has white hair, although if he was younger he would have been attractive.

He has just asked if I would like to go out for a meal. Is he being friendly? Or does he want a date? Is he assuming that I'm a single parent and must be desperate??

I have no idea. My kids said they would like to go, I made it clear I would pay for us

but now I am panicking incase he wants a relationship. What if I have given the wrong impression by saying yes? I haven't flirted or anything.

oh sugar, what if he was being a friendly neighbour? as he is new to the area?

He said, "would you like to come out for a meal sometime?" when he was returning something.

He wasn't bothered when I said I would bring kids, as he said they're nice kids.
Which isn't a very datey thing is it?

But now I'm thinking, what if he's a paedo?!!

He's definitely asking you out IMO Sounds like a nice guy if he's happy to have your kids come along too.

AW sounds like he is asking you for a date, if you are not looking for anything like that then tell him you would love to have him as a friend and do things occasionally with him, the grey hair can be deceiving though as my cousin is in his 30's and half grey.

he was asking you out on a date but will have taken you suggesting bringing your kids as a 'we are only friends'.. I think you are currently in aposition to turn it into whatever you would liek it to be..

..if you want a date.. get a babysitter

..if you want a friend.. take the kids and make it lunch
