Moving away

I’m thinking of moving away. I’m going through a divorce, and my ex isn’t really interested in the children, who are 5 and 7.
I could afford to move away and buy my own house a few hours away in a coastal town. I’d be moving somewhere where I don’t know anyone, though. Financially, I could have a nicer house, but we’d all have to make friends, start at a new school and find a job.
I can work from home anywhere, so that won’t be an issue.
Am I mad to consider this?

Will your dcs father give his permission for you to move?

Ex’s soon become interested in children when they can use something like this to control you as well as when CMS starts becoming payable. You’re not to consider it - and I wish I’d done it when my ex left - but you may find he objects

Ex said I can move where I like.

Go for it. It sounds like you need a restart to your life. If you are sure you can get a job, then better living conditions, more space and having the sea close by all sound positive.

You'll make friends quickly enough through the dcs' school.
