I'm a 41-year-old working professional with a 5-year-old non-verbal son looking for a fellow single mum who'd be interested in sharing a property with me in the Croydon area (open to surrounding areas like Purley, Coulsdon, Caterham, etc). As much as I'd love to flee London forever, my son's SEN school and support network is based here and I don't want to uproot him as he's settled and doing incredibly well.
I work from home with occasional sites visits for client meetings etc., and I live a very serene existence free from drama and unnecessary aggravation. I'm clean and tidy, but not obsessively so and I enjoy sharing home-cooked meals over a glass or two of wine and watching reality TV, films or a good boxset. I also have a cat who spends most of her days outside stalking her prey, and enjoy Pilates, food/wine, music festivals/gigs and travelling.
With another yearly rent hike on the table, I've come to the realisation that renting a home is becoming impossible on one income. Rather than face the inevitable eviction process and risk being put into temporary accommodation for God knows how long whilst waiting for the council to house us, I'm looking for another mum in a similar position as me who would be willing to join forces and start our very own single mums commune.
