For posting about your situation, your opinions on share parenting and useless acrimony.

The parents are now separated for 2 months and the 26 month old has never seemed happier. When we agreed on the calendar I was thinking of you guys and I agreed that a child has two parents who both love him so why should I as a mother see him more?

I will say it is painful and most people do not understand why I do not see my child more (as a mother) but I know that the little one loves his time with his dad as much as he loves his time with me.

I wouldn't have known that before reading your posts, so thanks guys and keep on posting.

as long as your child feels settled and don't feel like he is being dragged from pillar to post that is fine, its all about your child's welfare at the end of the day, if it is painful for you then thats the last thing you child needs to see, sometimes you have to be a little selfish to survive, is it established between you and your ex who is the parent with care and the one to claim the additional benefits ?

Whether you live together or not, he will grow up seeing his Mum and Dad working together - something that will make a deep and positive impression on him.

Tinkerbel6 - the thing is it is possible for both parents to be `parent with care' and happens in many cases very, very successfully. One parent denigrating the others' role doesn't make them a more important one.

When I hand my son over and know I am not going to see him for another whole week...I hide my pain because I don't want to upset him seeing me feeling devastated. I know that as his parent it is my duty to put his interests ahead of my own all the time.

If I can't or won't do that...who else could I expect to do it?

wheredowego, i am happy that your situation has worked out, not having read your previosu thread i do not know your situation. i do sometimes wish (still, lostdad he is still neign a git) that xp would also see reason that whatever he misbehaves is only hurting dd and not me.
