A bit of a weird one. I've struggled signifcantly with my mental health for a long time. But after fleeing DV with my young children and experiencing severe post-separation abuse (he's currently on bail) I just spiralled into this mist of.sadness, rage and depression.
Universal credit (my local centre) has been great. Due to their increasing concerns for my wellbeing/safeguarding as we are in a refuge, they placed notes on the system to make sure everyone was aware etc. My work coach at the time was so amazing, she supported me in more way then I know. When he smashed my phone after attacking me, they even ordered me a new phone as I had to leave work to due to my mental health and he refused to pay maintenance.

Despite them being aware of the situation, I was only told about LCWRA/LCW in March. Beforehand, my meetings with them was to never discuss work, it was just a 'we are here to listen, is everything okay.' BUT after my UC claim review, the lady said that I should apply for LWCRA. I reported the health condition officially (but there's notes on the system from way further stating my mental health) in March 2025. My GP and social prescriber, when asked for a fit note, backdated my fit notes from March 2024- July 2025 as I was attending my GP surgery weekly for mental health and safeguarding check ins . So on the system I have fit notes from March 2024- October 2025 at present. I was firstly wondering if I did receive LWCRA how far will it be backdated and how much do you think I will relieve?
I was also wondering on timings. I had my phone call assessment on the 23rd of July. The phonecall was over 2 hours. It drained me. I called serco for an update, as my anxiety was too much last week and they told me the outcome was put forward to DWP on the 29th. I've heard nothing yet. How long do you think I'll need to wait. Is this long of.a wait normal. Its killing me.
