Considering a move away from SE

I am a single mum to a 14 year old. We live in a very expensive area of the SE to be close to dds dad and grandparents. When she turns 18 I will stop getting maintenance payments and despite working full time I know I will struggle a lot financially. I am terribly lonely as I have found that where I live although lovely is very much full of 2 parent families and I have not been welcomed as a single mum. I want to move out of the SE and find a small town or village to live in where I can contribute to the community, have a social life from walking/swimming etc but I don’t know where to start looking. I would love to be by the sea. I need somewhere cheaper to live and hope that by releasing some of the money from my house it will help me get to a good place. Can anyone suggest anywhere?

Do you have any other wishes or needs other than to be by the sea? e.g. access to trains, planes, work etc?
I'd look around the North east, the suburbs of Newcastle can be very reasonably priced near the coast - Whitley Bay, South Shields, North Shields etc.

How about starting by looking at cheaper places in Soith East/South of England, Portsmouth or another costal place perhaps?
My friend lives a few miles from Margate and has a lovely life, swimming in the sea, a pint in the pub watching the sunset over the sea etc.
