Just wondering... about time to start 'getting out more' and would like to know where to head for?!

Met my DP in the pub. People always think if you go to the pub to pull, all you'll meet is alchies. Not true. Mine doesn't drink. So don't be put off entirely from your local.

I met my DP in a bar/club type place. Neither of us especially like the place we met, but we were both out having Christmas drinks with friends. He is not a big drinker, so I second what LW says.

In a pub, but it was a set up......friend of friends.

judging by the huge response ;) I take it that most of us haven't met a new dp. Not one worth keeping anyhow...

I met my new DH through Dateline. We were both 38 yrs old.I was divorced with a DS,not exactly easy to meet the right person. You have to kiss alot of Frogs and all that stuff....! Dateline just cut out all the "timewasting". You get to choose the people you would hate to have as a partner,ie a smoker or someone who hates Kids maybe, and you meet people with the same outlook to life as you ie.maybe someone who would like children,or maybe someone who wants to travel the world with someone, who knows, but either way,it saves meeting people and then finding out later that you are "poles" apart. Then comes the tricky bit... Have you any "Chemistry" or attraction for each other. Some people say meeting people this way means you wont, but in my opinion, that can happen meeting people "normally".You get details of 6 people in the area you'd like to meet someone from, and you ring or E mail them, have a chat and meet up.Sometimes its like an interview, but you get a social life!
