I became ill on Thursday just as we were getting ready for school.

Between me and my eldest son we called NHS direct (I could not see properly). NHS direct called an ambulance and the DCs had to come with me.

When they asked me for next of kin at the hosp I had to hesitate as the first response was to name ex H!!! Then remembered my mum.

I then had to drag them to another hosp which turned out to be the wrong one and then went to Moorfields left them with DS1's childminder.

Spent nearly #50 on taxis plus childminders fees. Turned out to be an ocular migraine (migraine without the headache so just visual disturbances) so in a word being ill when you are single p stinks!! They are not dangerous but very scary and disabling while they are going on (about 30 mins)

Ex H was away and though I do have other mums I could call on it all happened so quickly I had to take them with me and also used childminder as quickest and easiest port of call. She is a gem!!

cutylover, that sounds very scarey. Just thought I'd dip in and post as I have sore throat and onset of a terrible migraine.. house is trashed as had friend + kids over earlier and I cant decide what to do for the best. curl up in bed in hope I will get to sleep befor eit gets too bad and that I feel betterin the morning or plough on and try to tidy up a bit before heading to bed in case I don't feel better tomorrow.

rubbish

citylover · 28/05/2008 20:04

Hello MOH

Hope you are feeling better.

Actually might change my name to cutielover or otherwise sexandthecitylover lol.

I am feeling better though still very tired.

Hoping it doesn't happen again. Fingers crossed!!

HaventSleptForAYear · 28/05/2008 20:15

Much sympathy here ! Everytime I get ill and feel low I think about single parents who HAVE to do this.

DH is not that great about taking over when I'm ill, but he will look after the DS.

Never seen any sign of choccie or lemsip or even a cuppa in bed though so you're not missing much there !

get well soon vibes.

MascaraOHara · 28/05/2008 20:18

CITYLOVER - do you have a man then? spill!

citylover · 28/05/2008 20:42

Ha Ha even when I was married and had proper flu had to crawl out of bed into the lounge (all on one floor) to ask DH for a drink. He just didn't think to ask!! He was very unsympathetic when I was ill.

MOH - well more of a fb really but he keeps vanishing and returning. It's complicated as they say!!

MascaraOHara · 28/05/2008 20:46

is it that same guy as before? sorry should probably start a nbew thread lol. I have another date tomorrow night

citylover · 28/05/2008 23:25

Yes fraid so!!

Good luck with your date is this someone new or someone you have already seen before?

I put myself on a few sites a while ago but only had very odd people respond. But at the same time was not very proactive.

Then a few days ago put myself on another but have had some very odd people seek me out. Perhaps it's my age.

Dunno. The trouble is it would all be a bit half hearted with the other guy still on my mind.

sexandthecitylover · 28/05/2008 23:56

There have changed it. (my name that is)

Just took a look at two other dating sites but I can't seem to distinguish one from the other - I find the sheer no so overwhelming.

I do narrow it down to quite a small age range and location.

Clearly some of them look like nutters so they are weeded out. Many look very similar tho.

The guy I was with in my 20s (for seven years) met her second husband at the bottom of her garden ( I kid you not!!) Other houses backed on to it of course !!!

Perhaps I should look there!!! LOL

sexandthecitylover · 28/05/2008 23:57

no. I meant

sexandthecitylover · 28/05/2008 23:58

er sorry only had three glasses tonite!!

the guy I was with - his mum met her second husband at the bottom of her garden!!!

Any more room in the sick bay for another?

Had bad head cold for 3 days now. In a way I'm lucky that dd's are 13 and 10 and know how to top up a gas / elec meter
They also know how to operate a dishwasher / washing machine and tumble dryer.
My throat is so sore and fell asleep on the couch earlier. When I woke, there was a blanket on me and a lukewarm cup of Lemsip on the floor!

My only advice is as soon as you start feeling ever so slightly unwell...PREPARE as much as you can. Even just buying a couple of ready meals, pint of milk and a few basics can make all the difference.

Dreading the weekend cause I know I'll be feeling better by then...and my house will be a total shit tip.
