When I don't do things his way, he resorts to shouting and name calling. As soon as he starts I hang up but the one that really annoys me is "you sttuuuupppidd woman" (yes, said the way I've spelt it) Oh to have an equally condesending retort!

Usually the dc are wthin earshot so I won't swear at him. When he starts shouting I tell him "just because you are shouting, doesn't make you right". But I really hate the "stupid woman" bit!

another good one is do a little chuckle and an inwards smile as if it's really reminded you of something funny (he'll get paranoid that it's a joke about him) and just mutter 'yes dear' whilst carrying on doing whatever it was you were doing.

My xh told me I was 'fucked in the head' this week because I asked him to tumble-dry some clothes for the dc's.

He used to say that to me all the time when he lived here, and I am so bloody glad that I no longer have to put up with that kind of abuse.

[ grin] shelleylou. You must have been very upset at the time though. Do you still socialise with your xp? There is no way I could do that. I admire people who can, they must have some fantastic self control, but I really would prove myself mad if I had to socialise with xh. I would do something certifiable, I know.

I havent seen him for a while. He came to stay at the weekend to see our ds. then ds and I went to stay with him and his mum so xp's family could see him. We went to the friends house as it was our mates birthday. We're actually getting on really well at the moment that makes a change and didn't think id say that from threads ive started in the past.
