I really should just be letting this go, but for about a week when my ex was in a bad mood with me again (don't know why this time) he would start every text he sent me with - "o'ho ayte". It's been annoying me and i can't find out what it means, i did ask him but got no reply! He knows i hate all that ridiculous teen text speak and don't know why he can't just talk like a grown-up. Anyone know what it means?!

Nope, sorry, am useless at that kind of thing. Suggest you make something up to annoy him with though, a random collection of letters to drive him mad on every text you send him

poshwellies · 22/05/2008 11:09

ayte - alright

Unsure of O'ho (oh hello?)

peabunny · 22/05/2008 11:14

Well that would be ok! I thought it must be something rude as he wouldn't tell DS1 (who's 13) what it meant. I found a good one i could send him - iyuttomiwgms - 'if you use text talk once more i will get my shotgun'

lol at ayte - like AliG?

gillybean2 · 22/05/2008 12:05

I though ayte was 'as you know everything' but maybe i'm wrong!

Will ask if anyone knows what the O'ho means, though I think ho usually stands for ho in usa slang which is short for whore (as in she's a ho). But might be wrong!

Tippychick · 22/05/2008 12:24

I thought that too gilly but I was afraid to say! Is he rude to you usually peabunny?

Props to you gillybean( that's good American speak too no? I watch Amercain Idol you see...)

peabunny · 22/05/2008 16:50

Yes he can be rude to me, but likes to disguise it - so sounds like that would be about what he meant! Such an arse

I would just text him back sorry I don't understand, its more confusing when sland is added to text speak

peabunny · 23/05/2008 18:47

If he does it again i will. For now i'm just trying to have as little contact with him as poss - better for everyone's mental health.
