On your own, how do you manage situations when your kid refuses to do something?
Bribing doesn't help anymore, my 14 year old DD will happily forgo anything I threaten to withold to 'win the battle' whether it's washing her face (she just refuses to) and the latest is pulling out of the DofE Award that I'd worked so hard to arrange everything for and she was doing so well at.
All the other kids are doing it, but not mine - how do their parents managed to persuade their kids?

Pick your battles. DofE isn’t actually one of the important ones and if she doesn’t want to do it, support what she does want to do. Also, don’t micro manage and let natural consequences rule. Your dd NEEDS to feel some autonomy and your best bet for influencing her now and in the future is to make sure she feels supported by you in her choices.
