Ha - he couldn't be arsed to buy DS2 some new (cheap) trainers...........

we usually get him Tesco/Woolies/Matalan etc, but H obviously decided that was too much effort for HIM to sort out a new pair of shoes for DS2 when he noticed (as I hadn't ) that he had a hole in the toes of one of them.....

So I took him to Clarks today to get his feet measured, as per normal, I usually then (if I'm the one buying the shoes as I was in this instance) head off to Woolies - but today DS2 saw a pair of doodles these and fell head over heels with them - so I bought them (about £10 more than I'd usually spend on his trainers but hey).

They look SOOOOO cool (sorry anyone that hates them ) and I can't wait for Saturday when H pops round for DS3's birthday as I know that DS2 will be dying to show him his new shoes - MUCH nicer than anything H or I have ever bought any of them in the past

DS was eyeing those up the other day

FAQ · 19/05/2008 22:53

have to say - when I spotted them I thought they were rather cool - and DS2's face just lit up when he tried them on, and was practically glowing when he said he could have them (and I was rather pleased as at £16 they were a full £8 cheaper than the cheapest trainers they had in his size).

HAD to treat him, as when H had them the previous weekend he bought DS1 a new t-shirt and a home reference library thing, and DS3 new shorts and t-shirt (none of which were "essentials") and bought NOTHING for DS2

We love Doodles

DD's have an octopus on one and a fish on the other - she LOVES them, and lives in them all summer - they go with everything and when they get a bit scruffy they can go in the washing machine!

FAQ · 19/05/2008 22:57

really - they can be put in the washing machine - oh fabulous - didn't realise that - and it's pretty good news as DS2 is by FAR the messiest of my 3 (so far - DS3 still too young to know for sure LOL)

Don't tumble them though - they'll melt!

They are SO cool shoes!

FAQ · 19/05/2008 23:07

I don't have a tumble dryer - so there's no risk of me melting them

Have to say he looked rather cool walking home from town with his new Doodles on, his Pumpkin Patch jeans and green "hoodie" (from Woolies - but shhhh )
