Anyone feel like they missed their window?

I’ve been thinking about how many of us mums feel like we missed our chance to do something big - study, career change, whatever.

Did anyone here make a big change later on? Go back to uni, retrain, leave a job they hated?

Just looking for some inspo and also wondering how many of us feel stuck but don’t talk about it!

Not lone parent but severely disabled child with no access to childcare so I was fully responsible whist partner worked a lot of hours. I ran my own part time business when he was at school but I was basically unemployable

I retrained in my late 40’s /early 50s once he had grown up. His siblings were teens at the time and it was very doable. I now work full time. The main issue around things like retraining is finances, but you will get time as the kids get older.

I haven’t yet because DD is dragging her feet about growing up, but I had a former coworker who went back to uni after her youngest finished her own uni and she managed to successfully switch jobs. She was in her late 40s.

My DD is meant to graduate next summer and I’ve informed her that after she graduates she needs to start contributing. I’m at the absolute end of my rope running the household by myself, I can just feel I need a break.

I went back to uni in 2018 then started a business in 2019, aged 39, when the kids were 10 & 13.
