I'm a single mum with DD6. No other family. Looking for ideas of what we could do during the day so we both enjoy it? Looks dry, 13 degrees.

I’m a lone parent of 3 mine are mostly a bit younger though - I’m going to make a big batch of pancake batter the night before and we'll have a treat breakfast of pancakes squirty cream chocolate spread etc. then if the weather is nice we’ll take the bikes out and stop off for a cake or something or see if there are any local gardens to visit - some places do free entry for mums on mothers day - Chester Zoo if you are that way used to - if not then mostly be a films and snacks stay in pyjamas kind of day. If I lived local to the beach I’d take a flask of hot chocolate down with a picnic and a beach combing walk. If I lived in the city then free museums visit - maybe one of the more obscure unusual ones

I’m a single mum too and I’ve taken to booking what I think I fancy and they will also enjoy. In the past we’ve been out for a nice brunch, to the cinema, had a film day with snacks, swimming etc. I err on what I fancy doing as then the DC have to go along with it!

I haven’t got myself organised enough for this year but I intend to book a fancy cream tea one year

There are quite a few local home bakers who deliver afternoon tea set ups to the house - I’d quite like to do that one year

I have booked a meal out that I will enjoy and that the kids will eat. I also conveniently ordered my favourite fancy breakfast with the online shop in the hope the kids will see it in the morning and use their initiative 😂

We went out to a country park for a big walk and had lunch in the cafe and then met family later on.
