How do you explain

Those of you who have an ex that doesn't see the children how do you explain to people when they ask? I say he isn't involved but get a lot of "why" or "and that's his choice?" How do others explain it?

I wouldn't be explaining this to anyone, other than the children involved.

People rarely ask, at least in my experience.

And on a sad note most single mothers I know, the father shows very little involvement. It’s a very shared experience.

I have been asked a few times usually by professionals and so has my children so just wanted to know how others word it as usually "he isn't involved" isn't enough and they tend to ask why

Is this some sort of therapy for the kids?

maybe they are asking to see if there’s a serious reason, prison, mental health, addiction etc.
