overnight childcare

I need to go away for work for several nights. I'm not a lone parent but my partner is unwell and can't look after 3 kids on his own for this length of time. We don't have family near by or friends who could help. What do lone parents do if they need to be away overnight but don't have family or friends to help? I'm getting a bit of pressure from work to go but I don't really know how to manage it

Thanks

I haven't used this service but I would potentially engage a nanny from an agency. Obviously I'd want to get to know them first and vice versa if the children are young and will need personal care and naps etc.

Are they nursery age? If so could you ask nursery staff if they are willing to do it? I know someone who employed a nanny when they had to do work trips.

Swaps with friends or engage childcare.

How unwell is he? Could he manage overnight if you had someone 3pm-8pm and 7am-9am or whatever?

Childcare.co.uk (I haven't used) or Sitters (never used them for overnight but nearly everyone we used was great).

Do you have any single patent friends? If this is a one-off, you owing them a big favour could really help them in future if they're stuck.

I had an au pair, but mine was very regular two nights a week and every other weekend. My ExH had zero contact so having an au pair also enabled me to have a tiny social life.
