Child maintenance help

I have applied for child maintenance since my ex has not supported our kids in years

I have been gave an estimate based on this last tax year (he didn’t work much at all last year) so his payments are very low. Will it be taken into account that he now earns a lot more that last years tax statement will show or will I need to wait until next year to sort it out?

He is supposed to update them if his wage changes by a large amount (I think it is over 25%)
You are also able to update a change of earnings too I think, if you don't, it would not change unless he updates them, you do or at the point they recheck the figures in a year. I don't think it happens automatically though.
