Started a new job recently and on the first day was asked if I could travel in two weeks time for 3 nights, they never mentioned travel to me when I was interviewing and are aware I’m a single mum. Have since discovered the culture is big on drinking and drugs and that’s what a lot of this trip is going to entail - the last night is just a jolly and everyone is planning on doing an all-nighter!? I’m really anxious as that’s not the life for me and this is the first time away from my dd. Theres no other mums in the business (I also was lied to about this) and now I feel really awkward. Thinking of flying back early and making an excuse it’s that bad. Any tips for navigating a work place like this as a single parent? Have already been guilt tripped when I said to them I wouldn’t be going out all night on the trip.
