how long and hard do you try to make dds dad have contact?

my lovely dds father is bloody rubbish have tryed every thing to make him have contact, he left 2 years ago she is now 5 and he comes and goes from her life as he pleases, has gotten worse since i have started a new realtionship, do i keep trying to keep the contact between them up or is she better with out the disapointment of being let down?

It's difficult. I think you have to leave the door open, so to speak, and keep gently trying from time to time, but, at the end of the day, it is up to them. If they want to see their child[ren], they will, and, if they don't, they won't. Nothing you can do will change that. It is very frustrating.

Notdoing i agree about the no father shit father. My ds' dad as always seen him regularly lost his job and now hasnt seen him since before easter and only contacted me once to see how he is (after me nagging about it). He had 2 offers to come up this week 1 he had to make his own way home and the other my dad would pick him up and take him back. Both of these he refused so as far as im concerned he can sod off. Like notdoingthehousework i wont have him fliting in and out of ds' life
