I’m hoping this is the right thread to post on.
I’m now a single mum to a three year old. Ex husband has moved out but is currently paying for rent and nursery while I cover household bills etc. I work 30 hours a week and take care of our child the other three days. I applied for UC to cover bills as my ex won’t pay for rent forever. I got declined as I own a section 106 property which I am currently renting out. I don’t make a profit on it as I have to charge affordable rent. It is not suitable for me to move into the house as the area is now not the safest and it’s too far from childcare. Has anyone got experience similar who could recommend if I should sell the property. Would it make me a better candidate for financial assistance?

thank you in advance.

Have you had a capital decision made? There should be a letter on your journal explaining this.
