How long does it take for CM to collect arrears and do you get a lump sum?

Been trying to get child maintenance through the CM service for about 6 months now. Arrears are above 1k. They are currently in the process of trying to take it directly from his bank account I think. But I'm getting impatient. Would love to hear other people experiences, how long did it take for you to receive some money and how long did it take for you to get the arrears back?
Thank you

I'm still waiting. It's been two years. He no longer works so it's doubtful I'll ever get anything towards the arrears. All they say is that they're "on it" but they're really not.

Hopefully you have more luck with them.

Wow:) how disgusting. My ex definitely works but I reckon he's given them old bank account details. They say on the website site that they get court orders and can repossess theirs possessions etc, have they not done any of this for you?

How long is a piece of string. They will give it to you if they can collect it from your ex. It's bad he doesn't want to support his DC.

CMS set it up so they could take money directly out of my ex's bank account but they could only do it when there was some in there to take, which they did. Twice they emptied his bank account before he realised I wasn't going away and he has since paid on time without fail. It's just a case of waiting for him to use the account.

14 years and counting 12k owed, 3 liability orders. Good luck!

The CMS are utterly useless despite having a range of powers available to them. There is no onus on the paying parent to prove their eligibility to not have to pay. They can deploy delaying tactics requesting changes, raising changes blah blah and seem to get away with all sorts.
my ex is supposed to pay almost £1k a month and hasn’t paid a penny for over a year. Before that he was making a joke insulting payment of £20 a month for ages and they did and have done nothing at all about it.
the CMS fails children
