Can anyone help me with going back to work and universal credit please?

Hello,

I wondering if anyone can help me with universal credit. I am able to go back to work after being a carer for my son who is disabled for many years and I have been offered a part time job.

The wage for the job is under the amount for carers allowance so I understand I will still get this at the normal rate.

I’m just wondering how much my wage would affect my universal credit - it will be £428 a month working 8 hours per week.

Does anyone have any idea of how much my universal credit will reduce?

Have a look on the Turn2us calculator. There's an option to see how a change in work hours will affect your benefits. I think that you will be 428 better off, as you'll keep the Carers allowance, and the carers element.
You'll have to pay some council tax as it will affect your council tax reduction

You are allowed to earn the first £400 I believe. After that, they will reduce your UC. The Turn2us calculator is also useful as mentioned :)

£428 a month for only 8 hours a week that sounds great! Can I ask what the job is. I would love something like that.
