Advice about Child Maintenance

Hi,
Hoping for some advice on behalf of my husband. Him and his ex split up 5 years ago, since then they have had a private agreement in place for him to pay an existing loan instead of CSA. This agreement is coming to an end this year so he is now in the process of arranging maintenance payments to go directly to his ex. He has had his little boy 2 days a week for the last 5 years, however he was previously only staying over every other weekend meaning we only had him 3 nights a fortnight. A few months ago his son was getting very upset the days he came to visit but was unable to stay over so my husband asked her if he could start staying over the additional weekend nights so he could spend more time with him. She agreed on this and this has now been the situation for the past couple of months, with him staying 2 nights a week.
Now the conversation about money has arisen she is saying she wants more money from him because she “didn’t have to allow the extra night” and if it’s going to impact the money she receives she’s within her rights to put a stop to it so he has to pay her more. She’s also saying because we have a holiday without him and she takes him away that we don’t meet the threshold for 104 nights a year, however the extra time we have him when we take him on holiday every year cancels out any days we miss when we are away.
Does anyone have any advice on where he stands with this or the best option? If he goes through CSA and provides evidence of the agreement she made via text will this be enough to settle this? Or do we need to go down the mediation route? TIA

They don't include holidays.
So it's still 104 a year.
Yes text is enough
