Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone would care to share their tips and coping skills / non-negotiables when parenting through not only separation but busy life of multiple children and no support.

I was a single parent for years. My top tips depending on kids ages are:

but multiple school uniforms if you can do you can do them all at the weekend and hang everything up in sets for the week ahead.

on a weekend put an iPad / carton of juice / croissant in a wrapper by your child’s bed. Let
then know once they grow clock is on or it’s past a certain time they can have them. Have an extra hour in bed yourself.

Always have a bag of coins for tooth fairy / school donation emergencies.

If they don’t have a bath every single night it won’t kill them. Lower ALL your expectations. All
fed, none dead is a valid goal.

Try build a support network. Offer to have other kids for play dates so that you don’t feel guilty calling them in an emergency and asking them to have yours in return if you need to go doctors / work late etc.

Freeze surplus or leftovers in tupperware for an easy homemade meal when you're tired out. Get into a routine.
