Separated and sleep issue

I need some advice, I’ve separated from my children’s dad, him and son are moving out, however our daughter is staying with me and I would like to know, how other parents have done the weekend nights, did you do things slowly or not ….example this Easter holidays would be the first one.
would you just hand the kids over for a whole week and see how it goes or just allow one day here and there then sleep overs later down the line, information he will be over an hr away so not just a quick drive. Thank you

Well he is their father so not sure why they can't sleep over straight away? Wouldn't use the word "allow" either as he is their parent also so it's not about you "allowing" it

Wrong wording sorry, i would never say no to her staying with him, its just a big jump from always sharing a bed and waking up for me and she still feeds at night, to suddenly not having any of it, just was wondering if others have just made that big transition or if better to do it slowly.

The age of your children make all the difference op. If she's still waking up to feed from you at night she doesn't sound ready for over nights away from you.

Do you plan to split up the siblings long term?

my son made up his mind and wants to go with dad so until the time comes where he may change his mind it is a permanent thing.
im just trying to find out the right and easiest way to do things, maybe easing into it would be better

If she's feeding at night I agree a week is too much maybe do the odd night here or there
