Do I move when DS is due to start secondary in Sept?

Things aren’t ideal with the current location. I’m a lone parent with zero support. Currently we live quite rurally and childcare has been a continual nightmare to put in place. I’m isolated and starting to resent DS for being confined to the house at the moment.

-His current school arrangements mean that he is collected by taxi circa 8am and returns at approx 3:30.

-My work is in the nearest city, approx 90 minutes door to door. I’m not able to go the office at the moment as the last childcare stopped in January. Luckily I can WFH but I want/need some interaction.

-Things are further complicated by things not going well at work, in part due to being a lone parent, and I could need to look for another job soon.

-very limited options for jobs locally. If I were to lose my job, potentially it would be looking at the nearest city or further afield.

-DS has an IDP and an STF placement for secondary with a named school

-There is potentially a suitable school in the new city but no guarantee of a place. I’m not sure how it would work logistically as he’d need his current place until the end of the summer term and then we’d need to move during the summer holidays. How would the application progress? Absence of settling in etc.

-I feel like I have no way forward, and I’m trapped which can’t be true. There must be a way here that I’m just not seeing.

I’d appreciate views from anyone who has moved in similar circumstances or perhaps from the perspective of a child with ALN/SEN
