Cms - what happens when nrp doesn’t pay?

If nrp misses a payment, what happens and does it take too long to get it sorted? Will they call nrp or write a letter? Are they usually quick at contacting nrp in this cases? Anyone has been through this? I have informed the cms nrp didn’t pay and just wondering how long will it take for them to contact him? Thanks

I’m not sure of timescale but you should definitely ask them to set up Collect and Pay - there is a fee for it but unsure of how much it is.

In my experience you report it, CMS text NRP, they ignore it, CMS don't do anything. You chase CMS, they promise it will be prioritised, nothing happens. NRP makes the next month's payment or part payment and CMS tell you the parent is making payments. You tell them no they have missed some. They ask for evidence. You send it all in. Nothing happens. Case for Collect & Pay automatically gets shut after 3 months. You query it and CMS tell you have to open another case. Mean time NRP misses more payments but you can't open another case as one is already open. This continues until the annual review. It then all gets wiped out as CMS say you can only claim for missed payments in the current schedule. Meanwhile NRP spend all the saved maintenance money down the pub. Sorry to be pessimistic but that's the reality of this joke of a system.
