What happens when you’re sick

For people whose ex-partner is involved in their child’s life…

Does your ex-partner help when you are too sick to look after your child, or do they have an excuse every time?

We have a 3 year old daughter and I have epilepsy. Rarely I will have a seizure which makes me feel too ill to take care of our daughter, but my ex-partner will never help outside of his contact hours. Am I silly to feel frustrated over this?

If he is ever poorly, he just doesn’t turn up

My ex isn’t really around now but when he was no he wouldn’t, I fell out of the bath once and hurt my back so bad I could barely walk I text him and he ignored me.

My ex helps loads if needed. He is retired and school ring him first if DD is ill as I can't have my phone on me.

For me being ill, I got Covid a few years ago and was so ill, he popped by, picked up DD, delivered me tablets and Diet Coke at the same time and kept her all week whilst I stayed in bed feeling iller than I've ever been. He even offered another medicine drop off if I needed it.
equallh though if he's planned to have her (50/50 split just about) and he's I'll then I'll obviously step up too.
we get on way better now we aren't together.

My ex doesn't help and never has. He considers any illness I have a way of controlling him.

No my ex would never have my children if I was ill, he wouldn't even have them so I could attend my grandads funeral!

However he had had covid about 15 times in the last few years, lots of different sickness bugs which means he won't have the kids, or his favourite excuse - he has a dump run booked (for the one day a fortnite he has the kids!)
