Useless ex glorying in ds' success

I know I am being stupid but I can't stand how ex has posted on fb about ds getting all 9s yesterday in his GCSEs and then all the replies congratulating ex, when he has done fuck all for ds. One person has written something about genes ...And others - 'he's done you proud' etc All make me sick.

I'm out of order obviously - ex has always been around and no doubt loves ds despite being useless but fuck me this is annoying. I notice he's never posted 'PAid nothing for ds again this month - go me.' Of course his friends are going to write the things they have, but uuggghhh.

Urgh. Maddening. Hopefully anyone that matters know the truth. Well done to your son (and you) that’s an amazing achievement

AuntMarch · 25/08/2023 17:27

Ha, my son is much younger but I feel like this when his "every other weekend" dad tells me how proud he is that someone comments on his manners.. YOU DID NOT DO THAT!!

abbey44 · 25/08/2023 17:41

its infuriating when they do this - my ex was a very absent father for 95% of the time, but come results day he puffed his chest out and claimed all the credit. I did send him an article about how intelligence comes from the mother’s side, but I’m not sure he took any notice. To be fair, my children have both said to him that it was mum who was always there, come rain or shine, and that meant the world to me.

Ugh. Block him on FB, you have no need to see his nonsense.

Babymamaroon · 25/08/2023 21:03

Huge congrats to your son and well done Mama for all you've done for your boy to help him succeed! You must be so proud of his outstanding results.

Rise above the selfish man and his FB idiot mates.

TheaBrandt · 25/08/2023 21:04

They all know really.

Wishitsnows · 25/08/2023 21:08

I bet they know but just feel obliged to write something

lurchersforlife · 25/08/2023 21:08

Thank you all so much 🌹.

DS definitely sees through his dad, which doesn't actually make me happy - I find it all a bit sad. Can't wait to confirm that ex has absolutely no idea whatsoever how we will fund ds through uni...
