I’ve recently separated from my child’s father and we were looking into CM amounts, I’m concerned he is going to lie about where he is living and paying towards other children, does anyone know how the CMS looks into this?
im pretty sure he will be moving back in with his other children’s mother and therefore not paying towards them formally, which would change the amount he would be liable to pay for our child.

In my experience they don't. But if he lives with them it does affect hour much he'll have to pay you.

How do they know where he lives though does he need to provide like proof of address? Sorry if it’s a stupid question I’m just all new to this

I'm sure it's an actual sport for this kind of non resident parent to do what they can to avoid paying for their children. My ex has a 'partner' and she allegedly has children but I think she is a HMRC and CMS partner so he can account for no earnings (all bull shit as his website proves he's earning handsomely) and distract CMS. They have told me they don't ask for proof of partner or children as they take his word on it so he avoids paying quite easily unless I can prove he's lying. I honestly don't believe he is in any relationship at all. But their fraud team don't accept ANY online activity or posts as evidence as the CMS law was made when Social Media wasn't the thing it is now.
My MP has raised a complaint on my behalf and although he's a raging borisky Tory he does seem to be picking up that things are not well with the CMS. His researcher sent me a very interesting piece of research by the CMS about abuse of their processes being used as ongoing coercive control. So that is progress.
Squeaky wheel gets the oil and I am squeaky as fuck! It's the only way. I can't throw the towel in as an absolute point of principle.
Non payment should be as socially abhorrent as drink/drug driving.

AFAIK they will just take his word for where he lives.

I sent screenshot of messages my ex sent me by mistake (they were meant for his new gf) which proved he didn't live with her and her DC. CMS told me there's was no proof the messages were real, even though the number they came from was his, and as far as they were concerned he lived at her house and therefore was entitled to a reduction in CM on account of living with other DC.
