My sister is claiming universal credit she has one main job which she has reported to universal credit but she has 2 other jobs which she hasn't reported she's a lone parent like myself I'm fed up with my sister keep ringing me saying we getting a takeaway tonight or she's bought her daughter whole new outfits and going on expensive holidays my question is would you report a family member I'm the only person who knows she's not reporting the jobs

I wouldn’t repot her no . Are these jobs cash in hand otherwise she will definitively be caught

StillPerplexed · 14/07/2023 14:13

Of course you don't dob in your sister just because you're jealous about her money situation. Come on.

As someone just said, it's likely she'll be caught anyway. You don't need to ruin your relationship and betray her trust.

It's just I'm doing everything by the book and reporting changes in my circumstances I work two jobs have 3 children and can't afford to give them what my sister does.

I'm probably the outlier here, but I would report her. So many scammers on the UC system just make things harder for genuine claimants.

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/07/2023 14:51

Well if you want to ruin your relationship with your sister, go a head.

Mummy2022FT · 14/07/2023 14:56

How does your sister manage to have two other jobs and they not know about it? That's quite strange

HelloFreshed · 14/07/2023 14:58

Imagine being so jealous of your own flesh and blood. Wow

KnickerlessParsons · 14/07/2023 15:00

I think I'd report her too - it's anonymous isn't it?

It's people like your sister who are indirectly preventing the govt from paying nurses etc an appropriate wage.

clpsmum · 14/07/2023 15:05

Nice sister you are

Right…Nothing to do with our corrupt leaders that overpay themselves and each other whilst leaving us plebs with crumbs 🙄

Every job you work you have to report to universal credit she's not reported the two jobs she has her main job then £100 a week she's not reported and cash in hand jobs

If it’s anonymous then definitely report, presumably other people probably know she’s doing one or both of these extra jobs. It’s not fair that you and others play by the rules, and she’s getting extra handouts from taxpayer.

One of the jobs are cash the other she has her wages in another account

Yes they are extra jobs which is quite a bit of money I work 22 hours and pay tax

Just let your sister survive will you there are others doing worse (not me I hasten to add). I have hardly bought takeaways in 18 years of bringing up my son. The money was never there.

FloweryName · 15/07/2023 08:30

I’d report her. It’s anonymous so you have nothing to lose and what she’s doing is both morally and legally wrong.

TheSeaDoesntKnowMyName · 15/07/2023 08:31
Hmm

Yes this is totally real
