Will CMS backdate payments

Just that really. DD is 16mo and split with her dad when she was 6mo. I've just applied for CMS, do they backdate it? He paid £100 one month and then nothing since. I'll only be getting £7 a week so I know it's nothing major but just not sure how it all works so any advice would be great.

They only backdate to the date of the claim, not birth, if that's what you're asking.

They start the claim from the day you apply

Will that £100 be taken into account form back pay from today? I'm not expecting it but would massively help, £7 a week isn't enough but I know that's all I'll get as he doesn't work but I know he's getting more money a month than I am and I'm working, but oh well 😂

Just be aware if he has any debts he won't have to pay maintenance. My ex doesn't work but because he has debts I get nothing for the children

That is outrageous.

Its called priority debt, haven't had a payment in years cms is around number 15 on the list so debts before that take priority, they can't take anything off him.

And if you were in debt you are still somehow to manage? It is a joke what these men get away with it really is.
