Boredom

How do you deal with the loneliness/ boredom of being a lone parent? I actually feel asleep earlier I was that bored. I miss having someone to chat to but dating isn’t possible, I have only spoken to my children today like most days. Most single mums tend to say how much they love it and how they never get bored and prefer being alone but does anyone else struggle with boredom/ loneliness?

I'm finding the evenings hard. I sit alone watching tv and often fall asleep! I think the key is to find a hobby and extend your friendship group. Finding other single mothers in a similar position is my aim.

Is it more the boredom or loneliness? Do you have any interests or hobbies?

SpinningFloppa · 02/04/2023 15:09

There are lots of things you could do at home but if loneliness is getting you down then it can make it less likely to feel like doing anything. Do you have friends or family you could talk to? Remember you're doing a great job as a single parent and it can be exhausting.

Thank you. I don't speak to my family and have very few friends and they are in relationships so usually busy.
