Lovebite - help, how to get rid??

Anyone know how to speed up fading a lovebite?

Met with a friend last night and he got carried away and left me with a huge nasty one, I hate them! Didn't even notice him doing it

So now I have got to hide it from the world and my teen kids, help, I've only got one polo neck, I can't wear it all week

Putting toothpaste on them helps, apparently. That and a good dose of thick foundation. My mother used to ask me if I'd got ringworm every time she spotted one on me.

try arnica, it's suposed to bring the bruise out quicker.

I agree toothpaste, polo necks, or maybe a neck brace and say you have whiplash. Ha Ha its brill - my first love used to do impressive ones - mind you it was 1972 and we were 14!!

Quite envious really! Ive been married 30 years think DH's dentures wouldnt hold out for a love bite.

At the moment I have sort of covered it with heavy duty conceealer but you can still see it lol

Arnica would be good - but get the tablets not the cream. Bruising will disappear amazingly quickly. Boots sell them (Nelsons brand) as well as some pharmacists.

Arnica is just as rubbish as the rest of homeopathy - might as well use Playdough. Nice big floaty scarf/pashmina should help. the trouble with lovebites is they are enjoyable to get or give at the time, but embarrassing afterwards.

madamez - I would have said the same about homeopathy until last year. I managed to slam our (heavy) front door on my finger. Bruising was immediate and spread alarmingingly down towards the palm of my hand. I went to the GP and saw the nurse, who reassured me that nothing was broken, and recommended arnica. From the moment I started to take it you could see the bruising disappear. Within 24 hours my finger, which had turned a dark plum colour, was almost back to normal. So I was not a 'believer' but I am now - at least in arnica.

I can't go the scarf route as never wear them, so I'll get 'why are you wearing a scarf' questions and of course this today was glorious so everyone else in lighter clothes, i'm in big, very fluffy and warm polo neck!

madamez - arnica is great in tablet or cream form - we use it loads as we are a very clumsy family i truely believe it works

This reminds me of when my dd age 4 gave me one on the neck one morning when we were cuddling in bed. I didn't realise what she was doing (neither did she) until it was too late.
