Child maintenance variation

My ex doesn’t pay any maintenance, he isn’t working or claiming benefits. He does however rent out the rooms in his property, cms can’t touch this as he doesn’t declare it. I’ve recently read about a variation which I hadn’t heard of before, would cms be able to take this into consideration for a variation, or does he have to admit what he is going to them? (Unlikely) how does it work does anyone have any experience of this?

By not reporting it, do you mean it’s cash in hand and not declared to HMRC? Because if so, that’s tax evasion.

I don’t know if CMS would do anything about that. Or if that’s an HMRC job.

I’ve just gotten off the phone to HMRC.

It’s a long phone wait but worth it. Tell them the situation and see what they say.

Not going to report it to hmrc so just wondering for cms purpose, I don’t think it’s cash but he doesn’t declare what he is doing
