Houseshare??

Right, I might be in completely the wrong place and if I am I apologise.

I am a single mum of a ten month old. I try to gentle parent, am a vegetarian & am in my early thirties. I’m looking for someone else - or several mums - to houseshare with. A ‘mommune’ they’re calling it on tiktok.

I currently live in Dorset but honestly couldn’t give a crap whereabouts I live. My friends and family are dotted all around the place lol. It makes no difference to me.

Would anyone actually be open to this or am I just nutso?

I wouldn’t do this myself but there was a post on here a little while back from another single mum looking for a house share if you scroll down you may be able to find it

You are not nutso. It takes a village and all and I love the idea of this and have spoken about it with other single mums who all like the idea of a kind of communal living - but I am unable to move and don't have a spare room to offer so I can't try it. I love the idea of living more communally though particularly when growing older - this example looks great! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-64153693

Good luck. As a single parent I can totally see the appeal. (But not keen myself!)

I think it's a great idea. Have a look on spareroom.com

I think it's a brilliant idea. I would definitely do it if I was a single parent. good luck!

My aunt works in a nursery and was recently telling me that two of the mums have moved in together with this sort of set up. Great idea if you ask me!

I'm also looking for a house share -I've a 17 month old daughter... it could be in London (near her dad ) or outside if it's a nice place

Unfortunately not, but I’m still very much interested in it.

I’m so sorry, I didn’t see this until now as I didn’t receive a notification for it! I’m trapped in a tenancy agreement until early next year but would still love to ‘mum houseshare’.

Hi, have you managed to find someone ?
I am also playing with this idea.
i really like the idea of moms helping each other. I live in ipswich, I have a 3 years old. I am in a situation when i might have to rent a room to someone as our mortgage is going to go much higher and we have not managed to sell the house. I would rather share with another mom so we can become friends and support each other.

Hi Ladies just catching this thread, I wanted to ask those of you interested but possibly weary, what you think you would need (apart from being out of a rent contract), to make you feel safe/comfortable about getting into a houseshare with another mum?

I know as single mums we face struggles with estate agents and landlords, but if that wasn't an issue, then what other things would be helpful to have in place as you make that move?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Heyyy

I have just come across your post. Are you still looking to sort out a place? I'm looking for exactly this! I am currently with family in Somerset but needing a space for me and my 8 month old daughter. I grew up in Dorset so I know and love the area but would be equally happy exploring options

Hello! I absolutely am still looking. I have a tenancy I’m locked into right now but it is still something I would love to do

Are you still looking to do this? I’m not far from Dorset, I actually grew up there and know/love the area. Plant based and gentle parenting too. Very keen to investigate communal living... My daughter is 1 in a couple of weeks. Let me know if you’d be interested in chatting more
