Hobbies as a single mum

Any recommendations for hobbies as a single mum of 1YO?
Going to the gym etc is not possible due to LO. Any recommendations of things that are inexpensive and easy to get started? I've lost all motivation of anything for me and even the thought of something I'm interested in or would like to do draws a blank.

I started crocheting during lockdown, it was quite fun and something to do while the kids were in bed.

That's a good idea, thankyou. Did you learn it from scratch like from YouTube videos or did you already have some experience? I've tried knitting before but couldn't get the hang of it although I know these are different.

Another one for crochet! I loved crochet as a child and started again recently. It's very relaxing in the evenings once DC asleep. YouTube videos helped me get back into it.

If you are missing the gym perhaps work out videos in the living room? Again lots on YouTube.

Card-making and/or scrapbooking?
Then again crocheting will probably be a cheaper hobby! 🤣

If you want to exercise. Try les Mills on demand or you tube videos

Park runs? Lots of new mums make friends this way as you can take baby/ child in the pram i believe

You could join a book club that meets over zoom. Very cheap if you can get the books from your library

Some good YouTube channels for exercise are: Madfit, Chloe ting, yoga with Adrienne, yoga with Kassandra.

Jigsaw puzzles - charity shops have them at great prices

Study something that you could set up as a side hustle or to improve your promotion prospects.

Grow some plants. Tomatoes and strawberries do well in pots.

Cooking - I love to cook and try to do one new recipe a week. So as well as cooking I spend a lot of time browsing recipes.

There are lots of painting tutorials online that only require you to have the primary colours, black and white as they teach you to mix the colours.

Cross stitching. Again, you may be able to pick up a complete kit in a charity shop.

Creative writing or just journaling
