Ok so hate is maybe a bit of a strong word,he is only 2, but everytime his father comes to visit he is just plain mean to me!!
Dad comes every other w/e and for now stays over for one night, he lives miles away so we have waited for ds to get a bit older before he starts going to stay there..... is going to start happening very soon though.
I know i should be pleased he has a lovely time with his dad and they are happy together (i am pleased really). It is just ever so slightly gutting when he tells me to go away daddy is better, whenever I try to do anything for him. Hhhmmm never thought it would be me getting a touch of the green eyed monster!!!

He's reacting to seeing the two of you together.

I would leave your ds and his dad alone, tbh. Run out the door the moment he arrives, and save any conversation for when your ds is in bed. Make the most of your time off!

He doesn't hate you.

I am embarrassed that i feel so jealous.... i am sure it is probably normal. His dad on the whole is much more fun than me, but then he does not have two ton of washing/shopping/cleaning to get through!
....I know he doesn't really hate me, am just feeling sorry for myself!

I think that children will often behave worst towards the person they are most secure with. He knows that nothing he can say or do will make you stop loving him, but at times when he's a bit unsure or needs conformation of this (like when his dad's visiting which must be a bit unsettling, however positively it's managed) he just needs to test it a bit.

wanderingtrolley..... have just been making the best of my time off in the garden digging....(very therapeutic)..... now have a bad back and ds still telling me to go away!!!
am counting the hours until ex departs, esp as he is currently sitting on my sofa with his feet up looking very smug.

Oh, I'm feeling that fordfiesta. Is he watching TV and having himself a nice rest by any chance? On YOUR sofa while you wash up/wipe noses/supervise homework/make dinner?
grrrrrrrr
