Should paying for jabs be part of maintenance?

WE as a couple decided to go single jabs when we were together. Have since split and x is refusing to pay for our sons jabs. I have paid for the last two jabs costing 100 each. The third and last one is on sat and cost alot more 140. I have asked for him to pay half as it is very expensive.

I dont agree that this is day to day expenses and think it is unfair for him not to pay seeing as he also earns 25k more than me a yr.

What do you all think?

jelly i think he should pay half as Ds is his son aswell.

If he never had contact with ds then no, but i`m guessing he does, so yes yes yes!

I don`t think its fair for the jab money to come out of the maintenance he gives, as money never goes far when children are concerned.

I am glad you think the same its not like it is an everyday thing. Do you know if there is anything in law that i can refer too about day to day things? I cant believe his attitude to be honest.

He should help you pay though as DS is his son aswell, just because DS doesnt live with him doesnt mean he doesn`t have to help pay to bring DS up, i find it very sad that fathers do this, including my xp, DD and bumps daddy.

He seems to be nice for a week or two then he turns nasty like this.

He will get his just desserts and i hope its pretty.

my xp does the same, weird isn`t it how they say things then change there mind a week or so later!

I do think in my situation, the OW pulls the strings so he says no to what ever i`ve asked him to do/get etc

For bump he announced he wanted to get the cot and mattress and now he says he don`t know when he will have the money

i just cant believe that they are like this, its not only me he is hurting. I also normally have to take him both ways so he is seeing son.

They think the money will go to us somehow i think! im sure they dont see that its there children that are benefiting from this NOT US! men grrrr!

I find it hard that when xp lived with us he was the best daddy in the world and he would have spent his last pennys on DD, but now its like he has switched off from daddy mode and he`s happy to see DD for a few hours here and there now, and if he has money theres no way he would think to get DD something she needs or wants.

jellyjelly although maintenace is supposted to cover all that a child needs I do think that your ex could at least pay for this jab if you have paid for the last 2 previous one's, is he saying that he wont pay for it cause he pays maintenance ?

yes that is exactly it, he doesnt want to pay as he pay x amoutn per month.

It was his weekend to have ds and the day to have the jab, he took him along thought the jabs had been paid, they wouldnt vacinate as they didnt have money so he called and told me this then left the clinic.

The next time they are here is in 3 months time. What a tosser i just think what if he gets mumps now will he feel guilty?

so he left the clinic without your son getting vaccinated instead of nipping to the cashpoint and getting some money out?, tw@t.
