CMS Collect & Pay woes

Hello

First time dealing with the CMS and they seem to be so disorganised - my ex refused to engage and so they have made a deduction from earnings order - had my first payment this month and it’s £100 short!

I called CMS, after a very lengthy hold, I was told the employer had miscalculated and sent the wrong amount - I asked if they could call/email the employer (obviously they can’t send the correct amount if they don’t know what it should be) and apparently they can’t and it won’t get passed to the ‘chasing’ team until January - so in effect, I’ll be £300 down by January before the even write to the employer to tell them about the miscalculation.

Grrrrr!! Just wondered if anyone had any similar dealings with the CMS? Any tips?

Many thanks x

My ex has been in employment since April and was already on collect and pay and I'm yet to received a payment! I would say just keep chasing! They are bloody useless and it's taken me ringing constantly to finally get through to someone that knows what they are doing to love it forward.

If you get nowhere, do contact your MP. My local one is generally useless but her office has managed to sort out my daughter’s cms claim.

Raise a complaint. That is the only way they will look at it. They really don't like complaints as it much get logged in their stats somewhere.
