Contact at my house

Does anyone allow their ex to come to their house for contact? Most people seem to be against it but what if it was the only way for them to have contact then is it really that bad? Surely the children getting to see their father is better? Does anyone allow this and if so do you stay out of the way in another room etc or go out?

OP before you even consider contact in your home you need to consider things like how you and Ex get on because it’s never good for kids to be subject to a toxic environment. Another thing to think about was relationship abusive. If it was abusive your home is a safe haven from that abuse and having your ex into your home means that safety is gone. Finally will your ex respect boundaries.
At the end of the day your ex needs to find a long term solution so they can see the DC. That isn’t your responsibility but short term if you and you ex are amicable and respectful of each other then it can work for the kids benefit.

My ex and I have an unusual arrangement. He does not have his own place so he has our children at mine one evening a week and every other weekend. I definitely don't love it but it does mean he can have contact with the kids.

Thanks for the comment.
Do you go out or stay somewhere else whilst he has contact or do you stay there as well?
