Child maintenance arrears?

Has anyone ever been paid child maintenance arrears that the nrp has racked up? I recently heard of someone having 21k written off and my ex had 1k written off.
Is this something they always do after a while or has anyone actually been paid the arrears?

I sincerely hope not! I'm owed over £6k and god help anyone that decides to write that off!

I've heard it has been done I'm hoping not I'm owed over £20k. But I am not expecting to see any of it.

Yeah I’ve heard recently that they are wiping historic debt, not sure how true that is. I don’t have any since it was wiped but what is the point in keeping a case open hoping arrears will build only for them to be written off 🤦🏻

Yep known many cases.

Also many years ago ex had to pay me and his ex prior to me. He had it as a deduction of wage, old csa.
But they royally fucked up and paid his ex all the money. So example my £200pm and her £200 pm. All to his ex.!

It then changed to cms. He paid me directly and by then his eldest with his ex was over 18.
But she'd had hundreds of what should have come to me for ds.

Anyway a few years later they rectified it and made her pay every penny back.. Including what was her share so to speak. Which should never have happened. He got thousands back! They weren't amicable and he took it! Which i think is wrong but that's his life

He pays me direct now and has since it changed to cms.

I think there's probably more context to it. Such as I can kind of see cm doing they with my case.
My ex husband owes about £7,000. He pays nothing and hadn't done for several years. Cm have tried but ultimately he's not got a job, not got a home (no fixed abode). No assets to take and no way if tracking him down!
So what are the odds of me receiving any money? Probably next to nothing. (Hes planned they well hadn't he!)
I don't even bother trying to contact cm anymore.
So yes I think in certain circumstances they probably do wipe it clean. I wouldn't be happy about it but there's a no contact order regarding him seeing the kids anyway so so be it.

Yes I think it’s unlikely anyone is ever going to see 21k unfortunately, with my ex though they only wiped 1k and he is getting cash in hand but they’ve never bothered to pursue it as on the surface he “doesn’t work or claim benefits” it’s just me debating whether to leave the case open or not really as he isn’t paying anything but people say to leave it open as arrears will build up but they don’t as they usually just write them off anyway.
