I have the opportunity to go on holiday to South America on a cruise in March whilst my exH looks after the kids.I don't have anyone to go with so I am considering going by myself. All the actual single or escourted holidays I have found don't travel to destinations I want, are too expensive or the dates don't fit in.

Do you think I'll regret it?

Definitely not!

I spent 10 days in LA last year - kid free!

Enjoy yourself, you deserve it

I would say go. My ex used to work on cruise ship so have spent lots of time on them (mainly on my own as he was working!). Its fab, you will see amazing places, try and get involved with activities on board - yoga, bingo, aqua aerobics, whatever you are into.. you will meet lots of people like that if you fancy the company. Would recommend you work into your budget for the day trips in port. Have fab time, how liberating!

I've been on holiday a few times on my own before I had my DS. If you don't think you'll miss the kids too much, definitely go. Cruises are one of those things I think that have quite a lot of single people on them.

I went trekking in South America and that great, as was the adults only Mark Warner that I went on, but in different ways. And there was no romance in either one - I just had fun
