How can you make rent and apprenticeship work?

I'm looking to save up for the next year to year and a half and move out of my mums place as me and my 1.5yo live with her and it's a little small for us and we need our space.

I hopefully will have a few grand saved and would like to move to a cheaper area where places aren't as expensive. And I also want to get an apprenticeship as I became a mum at a young age and am only 22 so I want to do something to specialise at a certain job rather then settle for random jobs for the rest of my life. (I am not going to go uni though). So how do you make a approx £500/600pm apprenticeship work with say.... £1k pm paying for a house? Is that possible? Would I have to go back on UC as I've been before when I wasn't doing well financially. I'm a single mum and my BD doesn't help much right now so there's that.

Please does anyone have advice?

Have a look at the website "entitled to" You can get a rough idea of what benefits are available to top up your wage.

You can get universal credit providing you don’t have too much in savings

Have a look at what benefits you are entitled to with one of the benefit checkers. Dont forget as well as rent you will need money for all your bills and childcare (sorry if thats obvious)

Don't feel if you dont get an apprenticeship now you will be stuck in random jobs for the rest of your life. While my kids were young I worked just to earn money no thought to future progression etc as I just needed the money. I'm doing an apprenticeship now as a 38 year old now I have no childcare costs.
