My daughters just gone to her first sleepover at a neighbours and Am I being daft by sitting here wondering I if she’s ok 🙈. I’ve met the mum maybe twice just to say a quick hello she seems ok and my daughter plays with her friend most days so I’ve seen her quite a few times and house seems ok etc but it’s not one of the mums I’ve seen a lot of and is it normal to be a bit nervous?? My daughter was really excited and I know she’ll be ok she wanted to go on a sleepover for ages and never had the chance which is why I reluctantly said yes but now I feel conflicted. I know she’ll obviously be ok but I guess just nervous because it her first one.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

How old is your DD?

Normal to be a bit nervous and I understand your hesitancy about this, especially if your child is younger - you are your child's protector and you are trusting someone else with their wellbeing. It can be hard to make a choice when you feel a bit pressured by your child to go.

If you feel a bit conflicted this time, perhaps next time resist pressure, wait a bit longer, get to know the other parent better, and above all trust your intuition always.

All the firsts are a bit nerve wracking!!
im sure your DD will have a great time. Plan an easy day for tomorrow as she will probably be a bit tired and grotty. Do meals you know she likes and will eat without a fuss.

I wouldn’t send my child to a house of a parent I’ve only met twice I would be very nervous so I don’t blame you!

What age is your dd and her friend?

I would never let my dd go to someone I've met twice not in a million years!

I thought it was just me being over protective so I’m glad it’s not just me!

My DD has been doing sleepovers since she was 2, mostly with family. With friends regularly since she was 4/5. It’s a brilliant thing to access other peoples worlds and families (obviously after you’ve vetted them). And the break is wonderful for us single parents. I mostly feel bad as she’s so hard to get to sleep at night
