Lone parents

Are there any support groups for truly lone parents?

My DD father is dead, no contact with his family.
My parents are also dead.
I live a fair distance from my siblings and they are all busy with work (no children).

I have one DD (3) and I'm always living in fear she only has me and what happens if I am ill or worse?

I really would like to make friends with people in a similar position to me - it will help me come to terms with my situation and hopefully get some support?

I'm sorry you're on your own. T must be really difficult.
I wondered if you'd tried the single parent group Gingerbread? I came across it after my marriage ended and thought it worth a suggestion. Also the peanut app might be worth a try? Ive made two friends on there in similar circumstances.
Hopefully someone else will be along with other advise.

I feel this way, not the same but my ex is completely absent (but through choice) no contact, we don’t see his family at all and I’m not close to mine and don’t have a relationship with them and they don’t bother with my kids, I struggle to relate to other single parents as they mostly all have an involved ex and it feels very different to doing it alone. Frolo is a single parent app but I haven’t tried it personally but there may be other lone parents on there.

I don't know any support groups, but just wanted to let you know you're not the only one feeling alone... I'm a single parent and my closest family are over 12000 km away. I worry about having no backup as well.
