Hello! Does anyone know what happens with CSA after A-Levels? Is the paying parent allowed to just stop the payment, and if so, which month? June (when exams dnd) or August (when they get results)? I am stuck snd there is no info on the CSA website about this. Ex is expecting just to stop payments and I won’t be able to afford housing.

I don’t know for sure but I heard it was August.

CSA can be stopped legally the august after the child turns 18 xx

You should of had a statement if CMS are involved - mine came last week.
Though Ex has decided he is taking next 4 months off work - so won't be paying any more!

Agree it's August which is also when your child benefit will end (if you claim it)

Thank you all! I take it this includes the whole of August?

It is August because after that apparently your child suddenly becomes independent and won’t need feeding, clothing or housing ever again. Although we know that’s not true! The hope is they can find a part-time job. And in the weird thinking of the family courts/CMS system you can then downsize - although even kids away at uni need some place to live in the holidays and those on apprenticeships or first jobs couldn’t really afford their own housing. It’s a bad system.
