Was looking at jet2 for a holiday later this year, just me and my wee one, and realised that free child spaces are just if you have two adults.

Does anyone know any decent travel sites that offer deals for lone/single parents? I’ll stump up the cost if I have to, but thought people might know of some if any such thing existed!

Think tui does deals for single parents holidays but won’t be as good as free child place

It's a bloody joke that couples get the discount when single (salaried) parents don't. Discrimination if you ask me. Try single with kids or single parents on holiday if you want to mix with others. Hear they are good though not tried myself. I saw jet 2 doing £60 discount for LPs.

I'm sure jet2 have a code for single parent discount. It's not the same as free child but it helps. Will see if I can find it

This is the discount 60 pounds off

Tui is £200/£250

Thanks all, really helpful. Even if I could get some kind of discount it would be fab, I’ll go and have a look at TUI and see if the discount for jet2 helps as well. @Hyatt I know! I get no help from her dad, but I can afford a holiday, which is great but it did annoy me that there was no equal discount for those of us that have no other adult around to stump up the cost of a holiday!

@audweb nope, it's my biggest bug bare about being a single parent. However I have found that long-haul is cheaper (sometimes) than Short-Haul, so open up your options to where you want to go.

I took my 2 children away in August 2020, with Jet2, and one of them went for free. Maybe it's because there were 3 of us? Or maybe it was just a different deal back then?

ABCDEF1234 · 13/01/2022 14:55

You will often find that the total cost of the holiday is the same whether you get a free child place or not (or at least thsi is the case with 2 adults and 1 child). Advertising a free child places seems to mean they have put the holiday cost up in order to put the offer on

I had the same with tui, I have 4 kids and me and my sister booked separate with 2 kids each to we could get two free but I think they charge them as an adult but will only work if you have 2 plus kids
