Isolating from my kids this xmas

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit lonely tonight and wondering if anyone else has found themselves in this situation?

I tested positive 2 days ago with Covid. At that point my kids had been with their dad and grandmother for 3 days. I'm now having to isolate for 7 days, missing Xmas with my kids and will not see them for 10 days running. I haven't stopped crying since I got my test result, I just feel so lonely and so sorry for my children.

I'm so sorry, that really sucks :( Try and treat yourself kindly - imagine what you'd do for one of your friends if they were in the situation, and try and do it for yourself? Like, some nice food, or distracting yourself with your favourite films. (Sorry, those suggestions sound really trite, it's a horrid situation for you to be in. Lots of sympathy to you).

Oh my goodness, I can’t even imagine the pain you must be feeling. If you don’t feel too unwell, maybe use the time to plan for your belated Christ day with your children. I’ll bet they’ll love having a second opportunity to celebrate with you as soon as you can.

That was obviously meant to say Christmas Day 🤦‍♀️

Oh thank you everyone for your kind words. I've been trying to keep myself busy doing lots of DIY but I've just had a slight nervous breakdown about it! I think you're right - wine and chocolate are the way forward!

Could be 7 days if symptoms were off quickly and 2 x negative lfts I believe.
