What a shit. I may sound unreasonable, but he isn't spending christmas with us either and I simply can't believe they are already at the stage where she is letting him attend her childs nativity play. His own father is still on the scene, so why did my ex go?

Also- if you knew my ex, it just isnt something he would do at the drop of a hat- he is obviously trying to impress her.

Is it something you would do at such an early stage? isn't it quite personal between parents?

He didn't us leave that long ago.

it is a horrid feeling, i was narked that my ex lady went to my dd's play... i am still on the seen???? but i guess she does sspend time with dd while dd is with her dad....

it doesnt make it easier though.
how long you been split..
did he go to your children's plays?

pinguthepenguin · 18/12/2007 21:49

we split a few months ago, but I've moved out only a month ago. He ended it when our baby was weeks old, so she's teeny.

What is it with men being lovely to other people's children?

oh pingu

chocolatespiders · 18/12/2007 21:52

that sucks i am so sorry......
the reason he is being nice is to make a good impression to OW.. it is superficial. she may have pressured him to go as she wants the perfect happy family?

does he have contact with you dd

pinguthepenguin · 18/12/2007 22:24

yes, he is quite good on that front, although he is becoming rather zealous about having her, and buying her stuff etc- Im pretty sure he's trying to impress the other woman. He doesnt after all, want to admit that leaving me had anything to do with our child- she has one herself after all, so that wouldnt do.

I certainly dont think she would have pressurised him, she isnt the sort (knew her briefly). No- he would have volunteered, or feigned an interest, so she would have offered on that basis. What a shit

how horrible for you.

I hope you can find a nice way to enjoy christmas and put this to one side.

CarGirl · 18/12/2007 22:34

you're in a very difficult & sad place now. Try and focus on you and your babe, your life together. Perhaps your ex just couldn't handle a baby changing things which is different to someone already having a child in place. My dh really doesn't do/like babies but once they are older is a lot more interested & involved.

This must be so far from the 1st Christmas as a parent that you envisaged when you were pregnant

pinguthepenguin · 18/12/2007 22:42

yes cargirl...it is, it really is.
